Sharon Rea is a relatively new painter working primarily in oils.  She was born in Toronto, Canada, has lived in California and Colorado and, since 2000, Isle of Palms, South Carolina has been her home.

 

Rea graduated with a Master of Science degree and a PhD in philosophy. Her areas of interest are metaphysics and moral theory, with a focus on bioethics and environmental ethics. An attraction to philosophical studies, and subsequently art, grew out of a fascination with the multitude of human perceptions and the instilled values which colour them. Her recent turn towards painting aims at a visual expression of our abstractions.
