Rea Art
"The soul becomes dyed with the colour of its thoughts." - Marcus Aurelius
Shari Rea is a painter working primarily in oils. She was raised in Toronto, Canada, has lived in California and Colorado and, since 2000, South Carolina has been her home. After obtaining a master’s degree in medical ethics, she went on to become a professor of philosophy. Her areas of interest are metaphysics and moral theory, with a focus on technology and environmental ethics. An attraction to philosophical studies, and subsequently art, grew out of a fascination with the diversity of human perceptions and the instilled values which color them. For her, art is a reflection of our philosophies of life and the world around us. Through art we learn about each other. Currently, the bulk of Rea’s painting is focused on landscape abstractions.
