Shari Rea is a painter working primarily in oils. She was raised in Canada, has lived in California and Colorado and, since 2000, South Carolina has been her home. She has a Master of Science degree and a Ph.D. in Philosophy.  The appeal of  philosophical studies, and subsequently art, grew out of a fascination with the diversity of human perceptions and the instilled values which color them. For her, art is a reflection of our philosophies of life and the complexities of our world. Through art we learn about each other.
